Thanks to Niels for the introduction (he made the del.icio.us one). This is incredibly easy — otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to do it ;-) But you might as well grab thesee now that I’ve made them.

CodeGarden06 is over — it was a blast! Nice work, Niels and Kasper.

40+ developers from 11 countries made this a wonderful event. Met some nice and cool people, most of them already with their hands dirty from doing sites with umbraco. Sweet.

The venue, Kulturhuset Islands Brygge, proved to be very well suited for the conference — everything went well and even the weather turned out ok in the end.

Good presentations, lots of talks, ideas, questions, examples.

My photos can be found at Flickr: Umbraco Codegarden 06. Also, take a look at the CodeGarden blog for more updates — maybe a bit of video one of these days.

Hope to see you next year.

Just a quick combined CMF2005-disclaimer and personal opinion on complexity.

I missed yesterday’s program because I was demoing an umbraco website I made. That’s the disclaimer part (as in “I hang with the umbraco crew”) — and an excellent oppurtunity to second Hartvig’s take on the complexity as the new black notion.

I basically did the “Write, Preview, Publish” walkthrough, pointed to special modifications made to their implementation. And that was it. They wanted to use their website as a communication platform and liked the simple interface where someone already had made a decision not to bloat everything with buttons and funky functionality noone’s using (or should be using). They didn’t have a list of problems that needed solving, functionality that could be “nice to have”, ambitious plans to take over the world by pushing buttons. Their focus was on writing and selecting content. Which is why I think they’ll walk away with their task completed and their mind clear.
