Yesterday I did a vlog test. The post was in danish as I laid out a local vlog concept and visited the local airport. Future posts (if I decide to do more — it was mostly a proof of concept) might be in english although I found it a lot more comfortable to do it in danish.
I got some nice comments for which I’m grateful. However, I shouldn’t be made a posterboy for anything else than poor hair grooming and bad ligtning. Kickstarting danish vlogging were done by — among others — these guys: Andreas Haugstrup of solitude.dk and Kristjansson of kristjansson.dk. Andreas has done some interesting research and I was lucky enough to catch a lecture he gave a few weeks back introducing the world of video bloggin to a bunch of people that didn’t know much about blogs. Kristjansson has removed a lot of good stuff from his site, but posted some really convincing videos some months back.
Notes:
Ozlak found a good link describing the burger joint I visited (in danish): http://www.highways.dk/danmark/kobenhavn/flyvergrillen.php.
The video was made using a (recently phased out) Sony DCR-PC350E which cost me about DKR 8000 incl. VAT. It makes some pretty decent video for its size which I’ve probably messed up good with compression. (If anyone knows how to compress for vlogging, please let me know).
A related concept I thought about is being done over at Drive Time [via Steve Garfield]; on his daily commute, Ravi offers to pick up fellow travellers who then make a vlog post with him. I don’t have my own car and walk to work, so that ended there for me…
Update: Andreas comments on my post leading us to nordark and a list of danish video bloggers (Vlogmap). According to Andreas I’m the first one doing it in danish. Which I find strange. Rumor has it Andreas is going to post some advice on compression etc. Yay! Oh, and Andreas hints that I make shorter posts. He’s soooo right about that.

People have been putting video in Danish online before, but I don’t think people have said ‘this is a videoblog and it’s in Danish’ before. There have also been video in blogs in Danish, but no videoblogs.
What about Jesper’s at webmercial.dk?
It’s video on a blog (or video on a webpage), not a videoblog.
Nice!
Synes feeds er gode (især fordi mit eget netop er begyndt at virke igen ;-) — lover at prøve at holde Clement ude herfra…
