Jdreng (who recently started blogging again, yay) points to an article at Kommunikationsforum; Blogosfærisk PR.
Semi-decent points on treating bloggers with respect; provide links, don’t just send the attachment-infested press releases etc. I’m sure the intentions are good, Jesper has a point: If you send press releases at all, if you send one to a blogger otherwise considered a ‘person’, aren’t you stiring it up a little too much?
I’m thinking: If you want to take blogging seriously — and not just want to harvest any benefits that might exist in that space — blog your stuff yourself. You’ll benefit tremendously if bloggers pick your story and add their twist and endorsement. But I’m sure they’ll want to do so as ‘fellow bloggers’, with the posibility to link to your blog and not your PDF press release. Being targeted as a cool kid / marketing machine seem old school evil to me. If I like your stuff, I’m sure I’ll find it myself. If you blog it…

Hmm, good points — but does this also count if I wanted to invite you as a guest blogger to a conference/exhibition/event? ‘Cause I was about to with this one: http://customermade.org/ ;-)
@Christian: Blogging whatever you want to say never hurts if you want a blogger’s attention. However, the point in the article as I understood it, was about the press release itself. Press material, product-oriented for example, just doesn’t do any good, even in a “the blogger-friendly version” for bloggers. If you want to contact a blogger about something else, an email makes sense — just as in any other case. However, if you want the blogger to blog — any online reference points are pretty damn important.
I think that article was way off. It doesn’t exactly capture the spirit of blogging and to me it reflects a view of people, relations and media from the past (century…). I wrote a bit about it. Let me know what you think!
I blogged about it: http://www.stagisblog.com/stagis/2006/03/bloggers_arent_.html …and continued the discussion with Jacob Bøtter in a podcast: http://boetter.dk/podcast/
