Meeting some people today confirmed my suspicion, that the few people actually reading this weblog, prefer — just like myself — to read it through their favorite aggregator, so I finally got my act together and full posts are now served in my xml. Recently I’ve discovered quite a few really interesting blogs, but I find myself forgetting to check in on them and as I’ve previously stated, blogs not serving xml feeds don’t make it to my blogroll which is a shame as I think the blogroll is a vital part of any weblog (well, this one hasn’t got that many readers, but theoretically, anyway). My earlier attempt to launch a “Feed me” campaign trying to convince non-feeders to provide this wonderful feature, somehow drowned in a heavy workload. I’ll try to do something about it soon — any ideas on this are very welcome! How about you — did you read this through an aggregator or did you actually enter the site? Leave a comment, thanks.

If I had a program for reading blogs, I’d wind up with 40 feeds in it, constantly pressing “refresh feeds” to get the latest entries… Don’t think my employer would like that, so I think I’ll keep reading through my prefered mozilla-spinoff :)

I’m actually here with a good old-fashioned web-browser.
Mostly because I still haven’t found the right aggregator for linux (gnome).
Newsmonster requires mozilla, which isn’t my browser of choice, and also is a little slow for daily use. Straw, I failed completely to install and AmphetaDesk shows me feeds in a long web-page which seems to at least partially defeat the purpose of a aggregator.
Hm. I’m just trying to find myself a decent aggregator. I’m looking at Syndirella, don’t like amphetadesk and bottomfeeder went down on me…
Anders, how do you preserve html in your MT-feed?
Quite happy with Syndirella myself. It still needs some of the basic functionality, but it’s likely to be released in a 0.92 version anytime soon. Never got NewsMonster to work properly, probably due to my Mozilla or Java version… As for the preservation of html, I’m not quite sure I understand you right, but I’m guessing you are referring to the full posts/inclusion of images etc. It’s a simple adjustment to the rss template; exchange MTEntryExcerpt with MTEntryBody.
