When I asked them at Kassen, they said, that they “would install a program on my computer” after which I would have access. Haven’t tried it yet.
Now, what do they really do? I don’t suppose the install stuff on your laptop.
As expected, they do nothing. Their AP is wide open and you just connect without hazzle of any kind. It appears to be a widespread misconception that you need anything else than your WLAN card.
Same thing happened to me at the airport alst year while waiting to pick up some up the reboot speakers. I tried to buy one of those nasty, overprized scratch-cards, but was asked (with a wild stare) “if I had the program”. And though managing to convince the poor guy that I didn’t feel I relly needed anything, I’m pretty sure he doesn’t sell a lot of access that way. Apart from that the signal was rather lousy, the forced proxy didn’t work properly and I was asked to leave the top floor by angry security people, though the signal was a lot better up there. But that’s another story I guess…
