2010: A year in pictures
Ok, nothing has happened here in a long time. But this just to note that I’m trying out this year. It’s a simple concept (I like simple): One picture per day for the entire year. My hope is that I’ll overcome … Continue reading
Tethering
I’ve been wanting to connect my DSLR to my computer for a while, thinking that it would be nice to get instant previews on a big screen and saving directly to disk.I didn’t know how, however, and after having searched for software, spent some time on Google without really going anywhere, I learned a few things:1. It’s called ‘shooting tethered’2. Continue reading

Tits 2.0
I’ve previously written about how Danish tabloid Ekstra Bladet never misses an oppurtunity to mix whatever event — with a tittie competition and some galleries of said titties. Now, they’ve gone 2.0 on our asses (no pun — or bun — intended). Continue reading

Photosharing syndrome
Inspired by a talk with Jon Froda on using ‘sleeping’ theories as a possible way to inject different thinking into what is believed to be common knowledge and theory practice when working with social media, I’m suggesting taking a look at what could be called ‘photosharing syndrome’.It’s a way of describing the relation of power between a photographer and the person depicted. From Wikipedia on the Stockholm syndrome:[…] the tendency might well be the result of employing the strategy evolved by newborn babies to form an emotional attachment to the nearest powerful adult in order to maximize the probability that this adult will enable — at the very least — the survival of the child, if not also prove to be a good parental figureOr in other words, you form a Stockholm syndrome-like relationship with the person who just posted your picture on the web. New Year Resolution Time — elsewhere
Guan — and others — are making new year’s resolution. In 2006 I will take at least one photograph every day and post it on 23.I’m not into that — don’t pretend you are going to do stuff when you (that’s me) when chances of you keeping those promises are slim. Continue reading

Freaking the photo lab staff out
Something occured to me as I was picking up a few prints of some digital photos I took at a lab at Alexanderplatz: Why don’t you — the next time you’re at a lab — snap some pictures of the staff when they aren’t looking? Then upload the files to their server and order some copies. Continue reading
